An analysis of sexual experiences by World Tennis Federation reporter Mr Wayne Karr.
Let me share something with you – sexual affairs are very common at tennis clubs. In fact, it’s highly likely you already know several of your tennis buddies who have had an affair. It’s happening at your tennis club right now, amongst your tennis friends, and you’ve probably got a best buddy who is currently with someone they shouldn’t be.
My earliest memory was from a weekend tennis camp when two (separately) married tennis coaches got caught in the same bed together by a tennis friend of mine looking for the toilet. I clearly remember the shocked looked on my friends face recalling the situation saying ‘They were shagging!’ The fallout from that scandal, which included a sacking and two divorces, kept tongues wagging at my tennis club for years.
Usually these stories are brought to my attention only when other tennis players get drunk and start blabbing, but lately it feels like everywhere I go, tennis players are ‘accidentally’ having sex with people that they are not in a relationship with.
It seems as though affairs at tennis clubs are almost becoming the norm. There’s one lady I know who wasn’t invited to a recent tennis and wine event because she had slept with two guys from the mens first team. She is very ‘happily’ married.
So why are so many people at tennis clubs having affairs. Well the answer is very simple.
First, most people at a tennis club have a decent physique – so they do look attractive to others.
Secondly, tennis is an active sport – so most players end up getting hot and sweaty – and that is still with their clothes on.
Thirdly, many tennis players play tennis without their partner. So they are away from home for many hours, in the company of lots of other “fit” and “sweaty” tennis players.
Fourthly, tennis does make you a bit horny. All that running around gets the testosterone levels in men rising and for the ladies, they also get “the horn”.
And finally, there are away tennis matches. Well you can imagine the potential for “naughtiness” when you are driving together to an away match and you are alone together for several hours before and after the tennis match.
So ask yourself this – how many of your tennis friends do you think have had an affair with someone at your tennis club. Whatever that number is – quadruple it – and that’s just the lower level of affairs that will have gone on under your nose.
Do you know someone who has had an affair at your tennis club?
If you do, then please leave their details in the comments below – plus also whether or not they got away with it – or they ended up getting divorced.
