Chipping Head Tennis Club, which is believed to be one of the oldest tennis clubs in the world, is being haunted by a spectre of an ex (now dead) tennis club member, Angela from the committee said.
Angela stated that a ghost is haunting Chipping Head Tennis Club – with tennis balls whizzing across courts 1 and 2 and the ladies toilets being flushed on their own.
Angela Compte (allegedly 39) said the spooky events at the Chipping Head Tennis Club had mostly taken place on the two tennis courts next to the club house, leaving club members “shitting their pants”.
She said: “A female member said she was picking up a tennis ball to serve and a random ball flew across from court 2 and hit her in the bum.”
“And one of the tennis coaches says that the ladies toilets keep flushing when there is no one in the club house.”
“We’ve also had two brooms for our clay courts, which were in a locked in the store room, go missing. Why would someone want to steal a clay court broom? What pathetic sado would do that. It’s clearly a ghost doing weird shit.”
“And then we had one old lady sitting watching a bit of mixed doubles on Sunday afternoon, and all of a sudden her glass of Chablis was completely empty.”

The very old tennis club, in Toxteth near Liverpool, officially dates back to 1666 – although Angela from the committee says it is probably older and over the years it is likely many of the members have died.
She said: “Our tennis club is over 900 years old, so the majority of our ex-members are probably now dead, but I would guess those that got kicked out might come back to haunt us, just to be arseholes.”
Builders recently relaying the astroturf on court 3 were the first to report a strange aura, Angela added.
“They couldn’t put their finger on it, but they said they didn’t feel right. There was a well-hung Jamaican lad that refused to go back onto court 3. He went and got another job as a male stripper.”
She also said Graham (who is also on the committee) had been left “a bit freaked out” as on occasions he suddenly felt cold when playing tennis in February, despite wearing two pairs of underpants.
Angela added: “There must be an explanation for everything, but I am buggered if I can explain it.”
