A single woman has recalled her ‘worst first date’ ever, which she says ended up with her love interest taking her to hang out with his tennis buddies at his local tennis club. Then afterwards, he texted her with some weird messages.
Caroline – a single woman – says she was left stunned after a first date with a man called Matt, she had met on the dating website Light My Fire went horribly wrong, with the evening ending at his tennis club with a group of his tennis mates. According to Caroline, the date started positively enough, with the pair having a romantic meal at a pizza restaurant.
Things then took an uncomfortable turn after Matt began telling me his entire life story, all the women he has slept with and how amazing he was at tennis. After they had finished their dinner, Caroline already knew that she never wanted to see Matt ever again as his ego was far too big.
However, as she was about to try and leave, Matt announced that it was his birthday and that he was heading to his local tennis club with some friends to celebrate. He asked her to come along with him, and Caroline decided to just go with it, as the evening could not get any worse.
Caroline recalled: “So Matt takes me to his tennis club. Which is kind of weird thing to do on a first date. That’s just not appropriate. But I thought things can’t get any worse, I can have fun doing anything. I say ‘Okay, let’s go for it”.
Then when they got to the tennis club Matt and his mates just talked about tennis all night. They kept talking about tennis matches they had played together and what amazing tennis players they all were. Basically Matt blanked Caroline all evening and just talked to his mates.
At 11pm Caroline had now had enough and decided to leave, but before she could leave the tennis club, Matt grabbed her by the wrist and whispered in her ear “Do you fancy a shag”. Caroline was so insulted she just walked away in disgust, hoping to never see Matt ever again.
The next day, Caroline was shocked to receive a series of bizarre follow-up text messages from Matt.
Caroline, who works as a Rocket Scientist for NASA, said: “He goes ‘I think I decided that I really like you and we should just be together cause you are really sexy and I would like to have sex with you’. Like you really thought this date went well first of all, and second of all, you’re going to think I am going to shag you – no chance! I don’t understand men like you who think they are gods gift to women.”
Caroline has now blocked Matt from contacting her.
